Men's Rights
I. Men are born and remain free and equal in rights. The distinctions can be founded only on public utility.

II. The aim of all political association is the preservation of the natural and imprescriptible rights of man. These rights are liberty , property , security and resistance to oppression.

III. The source of all sovereignty resides essentially in the nation , no individual and no corporation can be coated any authority which does not emanate directly from it.

IV . Freedom is being able to do anything that does not harm others. The exercise of the natural rights of each man has no limits except those which assure to the other members of society the enjoyment of the same rights. These limits can only be determined by law.

V. The law can only prohibit actions detrimental to society. What is not prohibited by law can not be prevented . No one can be compelled to that which the law does not order .

VI. The law is an expression of the will of the community. All citizens have the right to work in their training, either personally or through their representatives . Must be equal for all , is to protect or to punish . All citizens being equal in its sight, are equally eligible to all high offices , public positions and employments , according to their different abilities , without any other distinction than that created by their virtues and talents .
